JOB BRIEF

We are looking for a qualified preschool teacher to prepare small children for kindergarten by easing them into organised education. You will be teaching them the important elements that they require when entering school life. 

A preschool teacher must have a great love and immense patience for children. Qualifications are needed to teach children effectively and that includes knowledge on the best practices and preschool educational methods. They must also be able to engage with children by first earning their trust and attention. 

Lastly, the goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can acclimate easier in their next level of education. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a careful and creative program that suits preschool children
  • Employ a variety of education techniques to teach children
  • Observe what help each child needs to improve their social competencies
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities
  • Organise nap and snack hours and supervise children on their safety
  • Track the child’s program and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the child’s need
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom that abides by health and safety standards

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a preschool teacher
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
  • The balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
  • Certification in child CPR
  • BSc/BA in education or any relevant field
  • Valid license to practise the profession

SALARY RANGE

The average monthly salary for a preschool teacher in Malaysia ranges from RM 2000 to RM 2900.
