Posted by Effective 3 March 2022 (Thursday), travellers entering Malaysia via the Singapore-Malaysia land and air Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL); the Langkawi Tourism Bubble (LTB), and the One-Stop Centre (OSC) for short-term business visitors are no longer required to undergo a series of COVID-19 testing.
In specific, according to Minister for Health Khairy Jamaluddin’s latest statement on 28 February (Monday), travellers entering through those routes will not have to:
- Undergo RTK-Ag testing (self) on the second, the fourth, and the sixth day after arrival;
- Undergo the RTK-Ag testing (professional) on the third, and fifth day after arrival;
- Undergo RT-PCR, or RTK-Ag (professional) testing for travelers under LITB before leaving Langkawi Island;
- Have an escort officer, or liaison officer for short-term business visitors under MIDA who use the One-Stop Centre (OSC) facility to enter Malaysia. However, they still need to follow the schedule of a controlled itinerary that has been submitted, and approved, by the OSC committee.
Further, travellers entering Malaysia from the UK are also no longer required to undergo RTK-Ag testing (self) on a daily basis during the mandatory quarantine period for general travellers, and to report their test results via the MySejahtera app.
“I would like to emphasise once again that this new procedure only applies to travelers who enter Malaysia through the VTL, the LTB, and the OSC programmes. For travellers who do not enter Malaysia through the three stated programmes, the existing procedures or protocols still apply,” Minister Khairy said.
