A recent report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), The Network, and The Stepstone Group reveals that three out of five Singaporeans are open to relocating abroad for job opportunities, reflecting a global trend of seeking employment opportunities overseas.
Although some Singaporeans wish to work in other countries, many foreigners prefer working in Singapore. According to the Decoding Global Talent 2024 report, Singapore is considered the best city in Asia for employment.
Singapore is also ranked 8th among the most favored places to work worldwide. The key reasons for Singapore’s top 10 ranking include job availability, standard of living, expenses, and safety.
A study, which included 150,000 workers from 180 countries, found that people prefer to move to English-speaking countries like Australia, the US, Canada, and the UK for work. Singapore, holding the 8th position, has stayed in this ranking since 2020.
Singapore remains in 7th place among the top 10 cities, surpassing Tokyo. The cities ahead of Singapore are Berlin, New York, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Amsterdam, and London.
