4 Ways to Restore Employees’ Loyalty

We spend more time and energy on the people who cause trouble. That tiny percentage of people get most of our time and attention. We base our work on rules and procedures that make it hard not to treat the rest of our team like a commodity.

1. Show your workers you appreciate them.

Check to see if you are making assumptions that are good or negative. This is important because our beliefs affect how we act and talk to others. You get a very different result when you work based on positive thoughts.

What do they care about in their work and in their daily lives? What drives them or gives them energy? You will be able to talk and bond better. More and more people want to feel like their work is essential. When you invest time and attention, you can reinforce and connect people to purpose.

4. Look for ways to get people interested.

Too often, we do things because we have to. When you involve and engage people, you make them loyal and likely to stay with you. This can be done by having people hire their peers, giving them the power to solve problems and streamline processes, and asking for and using their ideas and solutions to business issues.
