The Malaysian passport is the 11th most powerful in the world.

So, people with Malaysian passport can visit 180 of the 227 countries without a visa!

The Henley Passport Index looked at 199 different passports and 227 different travel spots. From 2021 to 2022, Malaysia moved up two spots, from number 13 to number 11.

In 2014, Malaysia’s passport came in eighth on the similar ranking.

Based on official and exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the score showed that Singapore has the most powerful travelers in the world.

Each country without a visa or where you can receive an electronic travel authority (ETA) or visitor’s permit increases a passport’s mobility score by one.

But places requiring visas or permission from the government to get a visa on arrival are not “visa-free” and do not count toward the score.
