Job Brief
We are seeking a Host or Hostess to join our team and serve as our visitors’ initial point of contact.
A host or hostess’s duties consist of welcoming guests, providing accurate wait times, and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. For this position, you must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure our guests have a pleasant dining experience from when they arrive until they leave. Additionally, you must be available to work in schedules.
Ultimately, you will ensure our visitors receive excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming visitors to the location
- Provide precise wait periods and track waiting lists.
- Control appointments
- Accompany customers to their designated dining and bar locations.
- Provide menus and proclaim the name of the waiter/waitress.
- Greet consumers as they leave your establishment.
- Coordination regarding available seating options with wait personnel
- Maintain a sanitary waiting area.
- Attend to visitors who require special care (such as children and the elderly).
- Answer incoming messages and respond to customer questions.
- Assist waiting for staff when necessary.
Requirements and Skills
- Previous experience as a Host or Hostess or Waiter or Waitress is required.
- A comprehension of restaurant decorum
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Skill in handling reservations
- Effective customer service abilities
- Superior phone and face-to-face communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to oversee the complete dining and bar area
- Ability to work schedules as necessary
- Excellent physical condition to walk and stand for the duration of a shift
- SPM or certification in hospitality is a benefit.
Salary Range
The average monthly salary for Host/Hostess jobs in Malaysia ranges from RM 2,300 to RM 3,800.
