Seoul Turned Purple to Celebrate 10 Years of BTS

On 13 June, a two-week event began in South Korea to celebrate the 10th anniversary of K-pop superstars, BTS.

Under the slogan “BTS Presents Everywhere,” the celebration will go on until June 25 at different places in the capital city. It is a joint event with the Seoul metropolitan government.

The seven-member group has held the BTS Festa every year to celebrate its start anniversary on 13 June with their fans.

During the festival this week, the Sevit floating island on the Han River, the N Seoul Tower in Mount Nam Park, Seoul City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and the World Cup Bridge will all be lit up in purple, which is the band’s theme color.

Fans from other countries can also see ads in places like New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Osaka.

On Saturday, the biggest festival event will take place at Han River Park in Yeouido, and there will be a beautiful fireworks show at 8.30 PM with BTS music and narration from member Jungkook.

The fireworks show and, BTS member, RM’s talk show will both be live-streamed online. 

Throughout the event, fans can buy the band’s official goods at The Hyundai Seoul, a department store in Yeouido. Meanwhile, there will be a BTS stamp zone for fans to collect at the Lotte Cinema chain theater in Lotte World Tower.

Before their anniversary, BTS released “Take Two,” a new digital song with all seven members on Friday.

The song that the band made for its fans was number one on the iTunes Top Songs list of 92 countries, including the US and UK. It was also number one on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart.
