Thursday, 20 July, is “Barbenheimer” day when both Barbie and Oppenheimer came out in Malaysia’s theaters simultaneously.
This is one of the strangest (and unofficial) marketing crosses between Barbie and Oppenheimer.
Christopher Nolan’s three-hour drama Oppenheimer is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.” Cillian Murphy plays Oppenheimer, and Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon are also in the movie.
Greta Gerwig is in charge of Barbie, which is based on the famous Mattel toy line and stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.
Since the two movies are coming out on the same day, many people have decided to see them back-to-backovie as a self-selected double bill.
But because the two movies have such different moods, there has been some discussion about which should come first.

Some have said that Barbie’s lighter tone would be a good way to clear your mind after watching Oppenheimer.
In contrast, others have said that the seriousness of Nolan’s film would make Barbie seem less funny if you watched it first.
Many actors and reviewers have given their opinions on how to watch “Barbenheimer” in the best order.
Issa Rae, who plays Barbie, told people to “see Oppenheimer first, then Barbie to clean your palate.”
Barbie is all pink but not fluffy. Even though it is based on a doll, it has more than one message. It’s fun and lasts about two hours.
Oppenheimer is a three-hour movie based on actual events that are very well made. It does have a strong message against war and nuclear tests that will make you think.
You could watch Oppenheimer first, then Barbie. Or, if that sounds too heavy, watch the movie with Cillian Murphy first, take a break to eat, and then watch Barbie.
We strongly suggest you to watch Oppenheimer first and then Barbie!
