Responsibilities
- Comprehend the project/program and its prerequisites.
- Determine critical cost and other estimation variables.
- Collect primary data from sites, warehouses, and other locations.
- Conduct research to obtain information regarding labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
- Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Obtain and evaluate proposals and bids from subcontractors or vendors.
- Conduct risk analysis
- Create and submit proposals and estimate reports to the appropriate individuals (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.).
- Develop ties with important purveyors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
- Consult on planning (schedules, personnel requirements, etc.).
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as an estimator or comparable
- Knowledge of financial and project management fundamentals
- Knowledge of research and data analysis techniques and estimation formulas in depth.
- Exceptional math and IT skills combined with an analytical mindset.
- Capable with pertinent software (Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid);
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Detailedness and dependability
- Superior organizational abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction science, or a relevant field
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is a plus.
Salary Range
The average monthly salary for Estimator jobs in Malaysia ranges from RM 2,900 to RM 4,000.
