  • Collect primary data from sites, warehouses, and other locations.
  • Conduct research to obtain information regarding labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
  • Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Obtain and evaluate proposals and bids from subcontractors or vendors.
  • Conduct risk analysis
  • Create and submit proposals and estimate reports to the appropriate individuals (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.).
  • Develop ties with important purveyors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
  • Consult on planning (schedules, personnel requirements, etc.).

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as an estimator or comparable
  • Knowledge of financial and project management fundamentals
  • Knowledge of research and data analysis techniques and estimation formulas in depth.
  • Exceptional math and IT skills combined with an analytical mindset.
  • Capable with pertinent software (Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid);
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Detailedness and dependability
  • Superior organizational abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction science, or a relevant field
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is a plus.

Salary Range

The average monthly salary for Estimator jobs in Malaysia ranges from RM 2,900 to RM 4,000.
