10 Reasons Why Gas Cars Are Better Than Electric?

  1. Range

The biggest fear for any EV owner is needing to charge your vehicle but there is no charging station in sight. Alternatively, if you drive a few kilometres and need to fill up with petrol, you may quickly locate a station and do so. If your car has a 20 gallon petrol tank, it will typically get roughly 20 miles per gallon of fuel. As a result, you can drive 400 kilometres before refuelling your vehicle. An electric car’s average range is 217 miles, according to data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), while a petrol car’s average range is 520 miles.

  1. Affordable

Because gas-powered cars are less expensive than electric cars, this is another consideration. We are all aware that an electric automobile is pricey regardless of its size, colour, brand, kind, and technology. An average person thus prefers a gas-powered car over an electric vehicle because even the most affordable brands cost around $40,000 or more.

  1. Easily Available

Gasoline is readily available, and you can find charging stations after regular distances on the road. Internal combustion engines are easy to maintain and use. Also, it is easier to fuel them. Engines in gas cars have become more efficient and powerful with more mileage. Even if you need to refill, you can find a gas station on a highway, more easily than an electric car charging station. Yes, it is not impossible to find a charging station but at the same time, some areas may lack them.

  1. Charging Time

As you are aware, filling up a petrol car is a simple and quick process. On the other hand, charging your EV requires a lot of time. Finding a charging station nearby is the first step. Next, join the queue and wait for your car to be plugged in at the charging station. However, this is not just because charging the vehicle completely takes hours. Whereas, refilling a gas car is quick with the only time required to wait for your turn.

  1. Power

In terms of raw power, gas cars are continuously improving and becoming more powerful. Along with this, these cars are becoming more and more fuel efficient. Displacement on demand is a system in gas-powered cars through which some of its cylinders are shut off to save gas in certain conditions. However, with this feature, the driver gets a combination of efficiency and horsepower.

  1. Refuelling Costs

Petrol costs vary from location to location and frequently rise over time. The nationwide average price for a gallon of ordinary petrol last year was about $4.19. The cost to fill up a normal petrol car with a tank that holds 14 gallons (on average) will be less than $60. Additionally, a fuel-efficient car gets more miles per gallon and requires fewer refills.

  1. Speed

Even though the acceleration of electric vehicles is much faster than gas cars, an EV cannot reach higher speeds once in full flow. Yes, a gas car may not provide full torque like EV but once accelerated it continues to increase its speed. Most electric cars run on a single-speed gear due to this manufacturer’s compromise between top speed and acceleration.

  1. Life of Components

Another reason for the 10 reasons why gas cars are better than electric cars is the life of the engine. Yes, over the years the average lifespan of a car engine was somewhere around 8 years or 150,000 miles. However, with improved technology and innovative inventions along with improved service standards recently, the life expectancy of car engines has increased. Now it is around 10 years or 200,000 miles. Also, the maintenance costs are much less than electric vehicles. Due to heavy bodies and instantaneous torque, tires wear out sooner than expected and required tire replacements. Also, there is a requirement for eventual battery change as most EV batteries do not last more than 10 years.
