Travel Agent responsibilities include:
- Planning and selling transportation, lodging, and other travel-related services.
- Assisting clients in determining their requirements and recommending appropriate destinations, modes of transportation, travel dates, costs, and lodgings
- Providing travelers with pertinent information, brochures, and publications (guides, local customs, maps, regulations, etc.).
Job Brief
We are searching for a Travel Agent with a passion for travel. You will manage travel requirements made for business or holidays and provide tourism-related services and package excursions on behalf of our suppliers. The objective is to maintain client satisfaction and loyalty for future services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and sell travel-related transportation, lodging, insurance, and other services.
- Assist clients in identifying their requirements and recommending appropriate destinations, modes of transportation, travel dates, costs, and lodgings.
- Provide travelers pertinent information, brochures, and publications (guides, local customs, maps, regulations, etc.).
- Reserving transportation, reserving hotels, and collecting payments/fees
- Utilize promotional strategies and create advertising materials to market itinerary tour packages.
- Deal with travel-related issues, complaints, and refunds as they arise.
- Attend travel seminars to remain current on tourism trends.
- Input information into our software and manage client assets

- Maintain financial and statistical records.
- Attain profit and revenue objectives.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven track record as a Travel Agent
- Knowledgeable with computerized reservation systems, GDS systems, and e-travel
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
- Strong sales abilities and business acumen
- Capacity for effective interaction, communication, and negotiation
- A solid understanding of domestic and international travel tendencies
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, travel, tourism, or a related field
- Personal travel experience is a significant advantage.
Salary Range
The average monthly salary for Travel Agent jobs in Malaysia ranges from RM 3,000 to RM 4,000.
